Reserve Banks are closed every Saturday and Sunday and on eleven federal holidays, and ACH settles on none of them. The next closure is for Veterans Day.
ACH settlement date calculator
Settlement runs on banking days, not calendar days. Enter when the file goes out and this returns the date funds move, with Reserve Bank closures and the Same Day windows applied.
Saturday holidays
Reserve Banks and federal offices keep different holiday calendars, and the gap costs people a day whenever a fixed-date holiday falls on a Saturday. Federal offices observe the Friday before. Reserve Banks stay open. ACH settles that Friday as usual.
The next one is Saturday, June 19, 2027, Juneteenth. Reserve Banks are open Friday, June 18, 2027, ACH settles that day as usual, and payroll does not need to move.
A holiday falling on a Sunday works the other way: Reserve Banks close the following Monday. The next one is Sunday, July 4, 2027, Independence Day, so Monday, July 5, 2027 is a closure and nothing settles that day.
The next closure
The next date Reserve Banks are closed is for Veterans Day. Veterans Day 2026: what it means for a file submitted around it.
Same Day windows
FedACH runs three Same Day windows on each banking day.
| Submit by | Settles |
|---|---|
| 10:30 AM ET | 1:00 PM ET |
| 2:45 PM ET | 5:00 PM ET |
| 4:45 PM ET | 6:00 PM ET |
These are the Federal Reserve's deadlines. Your originating bank sets its own, usually earlier, sometimes by several hours. Check the cutoff your ODFI publishes before working to the times above, and see what each Same Day window means in practice.
