ACH Clock

2026 payroll calendar

Every semi-monthly payday in 2026, with the date an ACH file has to be submitted to make it at each of the three settlement speeds. 8 of the 24 scheduled dates are not banking days, so the payday itself moves.

This is the standard semi-monthly cycle: the 15th and the last day of every month. Where that date falls on a weekend or a Federal Reserve holiday, funds cannot settle on it, so the payday shown is the banking day before. Paying early is safe; paying late is not.

Read across: submit the file by the date in your own settlement-speed column and funds are available on payday. Two Day is the safest of the three and the default on the paid feed, because a file submitted too early costs nothing and one submitted too late misses payroll. Your originating bank sets its own cutoff on top of this, usually earlier in the day and sometimes a full business day sooner.

The Same Day column repeats the payday because that is what Same Day ACH means: the file goes out on the morning of, and has to clear the 4:45 PM ET window to settle the same afternoon. The other two columns buy you a day or two of margin instead.

* marks a payday that moved because the scheduled date is not a banking day.

Other pay frequencies

Paying monthly on the last day of the month? That is the second row of each month above. Biweekly and weekly cycles depend on the anchor date your own schedule started from, which is yours rather than a published rule, so they are not listed here. The payroll cutoff calculator takes any payday and works back through the same banking calendar.

Where these dates come from

Submission dates count backwards through banking days, skipping weekends and the eleven Federal Reserve holidays, from the payday funds have to be available on. The closures behind them are the 2026 ACH holiday schedule. For a single file rather than a year, use the settlement date calculator.

Every closure through 2030, in your calendar

This page answers one year. The calendar feed answers all of them: every ACH non-processing day through 2030, with payroll cutoff warnings, subscribed once into the calendar you already use. It updates itself, so there is nothing to check again.

$9 once. Not a subscription, and nothing renews.
